Health Minute: Move More Month

WPSU’s Health Minute is a collaboration with Penn State’s College of Nursing.

According to the American Heart Association, almost half of U.S. adults aren’t active enough to maintain good health.

When it comes to exercise, a little bit of effort can go a long way. Ten minutes of stretching is like walking the length of a football field. Twenty minutes of vacuuming is equivalent to walking one mile. Walking can help you maintain a healthier weight, ward off depression, and prevent heart disease. Walking can also enhance the immune system, relieve joint pain, and control cravings for sweets.

More physical activity can lead to a healthier life.
