Get ready to unleash your creativity with the guidance of our skilled staff and instructors in The Rivet. These hours are meant to replicate the ways that adults use The Rivet. Kids can choose which projects they would like to work on during the 2 hours. Choose from pottery, 3D printing, woodworking, and more! Some activities change each week.
This is a drop-off program for kids.
What is The Rivet?The Rivet is a makerspace designed for community members who want to take creative or technical classes, learn a new hobby, or use our equipment for their own projects. Several small businesses also work in our space. Many of our classes are taught by community members who want to share their skill.
Outside of youth hours, workshop hours are for adults 18+. Equipment areas include: woodworking, metalworking, woodturning, welding, pottery, laser cutter, large format printer, embroidery machines and textiles area, 3D printers, jewelry making, electronics, bike repair, and more.The Rivet is part of Discovery Space, a nonprofit lifelong learning organization aimed at sparking creativity and curiosity for all ages. Experience curiosity and creativity every Saturday morning with Discovery Space in our STEM Craft Club. Join us for 30 minutes of activities designed for you and your child to enjoy together.
Stay after the program to explore 5,000 square feet of hands-on STEM exhibits. The science center opens at 10am and there is no time limit on your visit.
Younger children are welcome to participate with their parent/caregiver. Parent/Caregiver must stay in the room with their child. This is not a drop-off program.
Family memberships start at $105/year. If this is your first time visiting and you aren't sure about a membership, you can visit and pay general admission to start. Once your child has a blast, you can apply what you paid for the visit to an annual family membership. Membership include 2 adults and all of the children living in one household. Members receive discounts on programs, camps, birthday parties, and free admission to Discovery Space plus hundreds of other science centers across the US through the ASTC Passport program.

The Potters Guild Annual Holiday Sale will be held in a new location at the Boalsburg Fire Company, 113 E Pine Street in Boalsburg from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on December 2, 2023.
The sale will feature the work of eleven local ceramic artists, with a wide selection of ornaments, bowls, platters, mugs, planters, sculptural forms and more.
Artists selling their work include Rebecca Baum, Jan Dillon, Randy Doughty, Holly Foy, Tiffany Friday, Linda Goncalves, Linda Hale, Mary Hodges, Mark Messenger, Melanie Rosenberger, Danny Stainton and Emily Stark. Several artists will also be working on the potter’s wheel throughout the day.
The Potters Guild is an affiliate of the Art Alliance of Central Pennsylvania and has more than 35 member artists who create functional and decorative ceramics.
Join the PSU Thespians as they bring a popular picture book story to life! Today's performance will feature "A New Day" by Brad Meltzer. After feeling left out, Sunday decides to quit, meaning the rest of the Days have to scramble and find a new day. The Days team up and hold auditions to fill Sunday's place. Will the Days find a new day to replace Sunday?

Please join us at this FREE community event to kick of the Christmas season and celebrate the birth of Christ! The Nativity Festival will be held on Friday, Dec. 1st from 5:30 pm - 9 pm and Saturday, Dec. 2nd from 4 pm - 8:30 pm. There will be a display of nativities, along with musical performances and small children’s activities.

Question, Persuade and Refer is an emergency health intervention program designed to give you practical tools and techniques to address and prevent suicide. Gain insights to recognize warning signs of suicide in friends, coworkers, family members or neighbors in need.
Anyone concerned about helping others may participate in QPR. Discuss potential scenarios and engage active listening and persuasion techniques.
