Young Scholars of Central PA Charter School (YSCP) is hosting an Open House on Saturday, Jan. 28 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. YSCP is a free public charter school in State College with students in grades kindergarten to eighth grades. All students learn Chinese and Spanish in addition to a rigorous core curriculum. YSCP is the first International Baccalaureate (IB) World School in Centre County and the 5th school in Pennsylvania to implement the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Primary Years Programme (PYP). IB schools aim to graduate citizens that received a well-rounded education and who are not only knowledgeable in core content areas, but also immersed in the concepts that they will encounter in life. Along with our academics, YSCP has a low-cost Extended Day program that runs from 3:50-5:10 every day.

Join our Middle School Youth program, Crossing Paths, which invites youth to explore the major world faith traditions and celebrates each faith’s unique aims and ends. Every world faith tradition was born in response to a distinct human struggle. We believe we honor religions best when we work to understand the particular challenge and aspiration to which each religion has devoted itself. So instead of using the metaphor of “One Mountain; Many Paths,” our program invites us to see the religious landscape as “Many Mountains, Many Paths" (religious pluralism).
