Anne Kenyon This exhibit of recent landscape paintings by Anne Kenyon, features scenes both local and far away. This show includes some of her larger works. While most of Anne’s paintings are created in pastel, some incorporate other media such as watercolor, printmaking and collage. Lynn Anne Verbeck Lynn Anne will be showing vases from her new Radial Symmetry Series. As she explains: I am fascinated with how nature divides and segments plants, petals, leaves and even underwater creatures around a main axis. My new Vase Series explores this radial symmetry. I love the shape of the vase to articulate segments in a flowing line from top to bottom, or in a subtle line that is like an echo of the strong lines in the opening of the form. A flower's petal inspires the lines; how the sensuous curve flows uninterrupted. Fire and the ash of the burning wood is essential in the finishing of this series. The way the flames caress the vases, and the ash builds up over time, melting down the lines augments the beauty. As I work, each touch informs the next, building up an elemental tactile vocabulary that is sublime.
