The International Day of People with Disabilities is December 3. According to the World Health Organization, 15% of the world’s population, or one billion people, are living with some type of disability.
The United Nations began the International Day of People with Disabilities in 1992. It’s a day for people with disabilities to shift the focus to their abilities. The day of celebration is a day to educate, support, provide opportunities, and offer free disability advocacy services.
