Virginia State Senator's Resignation Threatens Medicaid Expansion Efforts

A Democratic state senator in Virginia has resigned. This would not typically make the national news, but in this case, Phillip Puckett’s resignation has shifted the balance of power in the state senate from Democrats to Republicans, and may prevent Governor Terry McAuliffe — a Democrat — from expanding Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act.
