Subzero Cold Closes Schools In Minneapolis, But Not St. Paul

Temperatures are below zero in much of the country today — well below if you’re looking at the windchill. Before dawn this morning, they reached into the 30s below in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota. That was enough for the Minneapolis schools to close, but not for St. Paul, just across the river.

Here & Now’s Robin Young talks to St. Paul public schools superintendent Valeria Silva about why the district decided to keep schools open, and just how cold it would have to be for them to close.
