Eisenhower Auditorium on the Penn State University Park campus, was filled with students of all ages and ethnicities last night to hear Soledad O’Brien talk about politics, education, and economic growth in America’s black community.
“Americans are awful about talking about race," said O'Brien. "Nobody wants to really lay out that conversation. And I think what we do is open up a little crack in that door to say, ‘You know what, we’re willing to have this conversation and we hope that students are wanting to be a part of that as well.”
O’Brien spoke about changing perceptions about black America and educating everyone on the underlying issues blacks face today from systematic racism.
