For Domestic Violence Awareness Month, "The Clothesline Project" and the "Empty Place at the Table" exhibit have come to the Penn State University Park campus.

The "Empty Place at the Table" exhibit, which has been moving around Centre County this month, represents community members who were killed as a result of domestic violence. Fourteen plates sit next to each victim's story. "The Clothesline Project" is a string of shirts decorated by those who made it out of abusive relationships.

Jennifer Pencek is programming coordinator for the Gender Equity Center. She believes these two exhibits on display together at Pasquerilla Spiritual Center will give people a different perspective on the topic.

"People know about domestic violence. We know that this is a big issue but I think a lot of people still consider it an issue that's not going to impact them directly and who they know," Pencek said.
