Halloween sales have been strong this year, according to IHS Markit and the National Retail Federation. While there’s an estimated 8 percent increase in Halloween spending over last year, related prices are actually down at the retail level: Candy prices have dipped for the second straight year, and apparel (costume) prices also are down from a year ago.
