Refugees resettling in America have found themselves at the center of political and social debates throughout the country. From the 2016 presidential election to the White House’s two travel bans, refugees are increasingly becoming a politicized group.

But some are also finding themselves at the center of community generosity. Carmel Delshad (@cdelshad) of Here & Now contributor WAMU brings you the story of one Afghan family’s first few weeks in America, and the people who are helping them.
