Central Park in New York City, Grant Park in Chicago and Golden Gate Park in San Francisco are signature destinations in their cities. San Diego has Balboa Park, 1,200 acres of lush landscaping, museums and historic buildings, just a a stone’s throw from downtown.
California’s ongoing drought is forcing park officials to look at ways to keep the park green and save water. KPBS reporter Erik Anderson says the park’s historic buildings may be part of the answer.
