A Saudi Arabian reporter who went into the Saudi consulate in Istanbul earlier this month, but hasn’t been seen since, is the focus of international attention. Some reports suggest that Jamal Khashoggi was tortured and killed in the embassy, while his fiance waited outside.

WPSU’s Anne Danahy spoke with Reuters national security correspondent Jonathan Landay and former Reuters editor John Walcott about the situation. John Walcott and Jonathan Landay were part of the Knight Ridder team that covered the war in Iraq and whose work is featured in a new film by Rob Reiner, “Shock and Awe.” They both knew Khashoggi.

Anne Danahy has been a reporter at WPSU since fall 2017. Before crossing over to radio, she was a reporter at the Centre Daily Times in State College, Pennsylvania, and she worked in communications at Penn State. She is married with cats.
