WPSU’s Health Minute is a collaboration with Penn State’s Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing.
May is National Physical Fitness and Sports Month.
Regular physical activity is one of the most important things you can do for your health. Doctors recommend children and adolescents do 60 minutes of vigorous physical activity daily, while adults should do about 150 minutes of physical activity a week.
With the increasingly warmer weather and longer sunlight, get outside and get moving! Go for a hike, join a summer recreation league, or even walk the beach while on vacation.
Being physically active is one of the best ways to improve your health. For more information on summer health tips and recreation opportunities visit the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
