Most of this installment of the Folk Show Road Show is devoted to a concert by Mark Erelli,  a self-described yankee songwriter well loved for “going deep” into all manner of subjects.  He’s a songwriter who rewards close listening with memorable turns of phrase, and surprising insights.  We’ll hear the entire concert at Webster’s Bookstore and Café on Apr 28th.   

Also this evening:  a preview of a future Road Show episode featuring concerts at the 2017 Remington Ryde Bluegrass Festival, held in Centre Hall, PA, July 5-9th. Songs from Rhonda Vincent, Little Roy and Lizzy, Special Consensus, Flatt Lonesome, Ralph Stanley II, Loraine Jordan and Carolina Road, Nothin' Fancy, and Danny Paisley.

Mel DeYoung hosts Morning Edition on WPSU and is in the broadcast booth before 5am each weekday. That means that if he's being sensible he goes to sleep way earlier than normal people do.
