Michael Black has been borough resident since 1991 and is a local business owner. He earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Springfield College and his master’s degree in psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. He served as a student affairs professional at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and pursued a doctorate degree at Penn State in higher education. He is a graduate of the of the Leadership Centre County program. Black was once a volunteer on-air host for WPSU.
Also running for mayor are Janet Engeman, Don Hahn, and Catherine Dauler. WPSU's interview with Don Hahn aired on May 9, and the interview with Janet Engeman aired on May 10. WPSU contacted Catherine Dauler for an interview but she declined, saying her schedule did not allow time to talk with us.
