PA's US Congressional and State House Results

  Glenn Thompson won re-election to Pa.'s 5th US Congressional district. He beat Democrat KerithStrano Taylor 64% to 36%.

Bill Shuster won re-election to Pa.'s 9th US Congressional district. He beat Democratic candidate Alanna Hartzok 64% to 36%

In the State House races…

In the 65th State House race, Republican Kathy Rapp beat out Democrat Toby Anderson 63% over 37%.

In the 66th State House race, Republican candidate Chris Dush beat out Democrat Toby Santik 72% to 28%

In the 71st State House race, Democratic incumbent Bryan Barbin beat out Republican Candidate James Rigby 52% to 48%

In the 72nd State House race, Democratic incumbent Frank Burns beat out Republican Philip Rice 63% to 37%.

In the 77th State House race, Democrat Scott Conklin beat out Libertarian and Penn State student Charles Martin 84% to 16%.

In the 80th State House race, Republican incumbent Jerry Stern did not run for reelection. Republican Judith Ward beat out Independent Jason Lynn 67% to 33%.

In the 81st State House race, Republican incumbent Mike Fleck -- who ended up on the Democratic ticket – lost to Republican Rich Irvin. Irvin won with 54% to Fleck’s 46%

In  local referendums …

Altoona citizens voted to adopt a home rule charter, which will give the city more control of the local government. 53% voted YES and 47% voted NO.

Patton Township citizens were asked to vote on whether the township would take on 3.5 million dollars in debt to acquire and preserve open-space land. 63% voted YES and 37% voted no.
