Centre County United Way Holds Virtual Concert To Benefit Residents In Need

Centre County United Way

Centre County United Way is hosting a virtual concert Friday from 6 to 10 p.m. to raise money for local residents in need.

The Live United Live online concert will kick off on Centre County United Way’s Facebook page. Anybody that tunes in can see performances from 25 Central Pennsylvania bands and artists like Pure Cane Sugar, Biscuit Jam, and Richard Biever and Family.

Jeff Brown is the honorary chair of Centre County United Way. He helped organize the concert in addition to hosting. Brown says the virtual concert is breaking new ground in Centre County.

“We’re doing something new. We’re doing something really exciting and something that’s never ever been done before. And, of course, I’m excited by the potential of how much money we can raise for the United Way,” he said.

All money raised during the virtual concert will be used to support people in Centre County. Many United Way programs and the annual Trash to Treasure fundraiser have been affected or outright canceled due to COVID-19. Virtual concertgoers can log onto www.facebook.com/centrecountyunitedway to take part.
