The Folk Show Road Show: Heather Aubrey Lloyd and Laura Cortese

Hour two of The Folk Show Road Show: more from Heather Aubrey Lloyd, plus Heather Cortese and the Dance Cards.

Heather Aubrey Lloyd takes center stage on the Folk Show Road Show this month,   joined by cellist Kristen Jones and guitarist Rob Hinkal.  The chemistry among the three is on display vocally, instrumentally, and with their shared sense of humor.   Lloyd has a commanding voice that does justice to her substantial songwriting skills,  and Hinkal shines when he takes his turns as lead vocalist.  The warmth and spontaneity of a live concert is seldom fully captured,  but in this recording from the Center for Well-Being in Lemont, you might feel like you're right there,  hearing the stage squeak occasionally, and imagining the delight on the faces of the audience and performers as they share light hearted moments and emotional ones two.
While most of the 2hr broadcast is devoted to Lloyd, Hinkal and Jones,  we hear from fiddle virtuoso Laura Cortese and the Dance cards as well.  Both concerts were recorded by Greg E. Miller of State College.

Mel DeYoung hosts Morning Edition on WPSU and is in the broadcast booth before 5am each weekday. That means that if he's being sensible he goes to sleep way earlier than normal people do. The differences don't end there, but you'll have to chat with Mel sometime to understand the full depth of his abnormality.
