Week In Politics: Midterm Elections Approach, Texas Voter ID Law Stands

With two weeks left before the midterm elections, NPR Politics Editor Charlie Mahtesian talks to Here & Now’s Robin Young about the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision over the weekend to let a controversial Texas voter identification law stand.

Also, we’ll take a look at some key races across the country, including the Senate races in Louisiana and Georgia, where candidates are required to receive at least 50 percent of the vote to claim victory, and possible run-offs that could push election outcomes to January 2015.
