Active Adult Center: The Happy Valley Games
State College, PA – March 2024. The Active Adult Center, in collaboration with Penn State Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Management Students, is hosting The Happy Valley Games. The event will take place on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2024 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Participants will be able to take part in games, arts and crafts, and activities to hopefully take the stage for the gold medal at the Olympic ceremony. From sports to hands on crafts, and mind challenging trivia, these activities are designed to entertain all. But it’s not just about winning medals - it’s about forging connections, fostering community, and soaking in the joy of shared experiences. Making new friends, socialize, and reveal in the excitement of gearing up for the upcoming Olympics.
The cost of the event is $6 for Centre County Residents and $10 for Non-Centre County Residents with a light lunch is included. Each semester, RPTM 456 students collaborate with 10 local non-profit organizations, campus organizations and state parks to plan, promote, implement and evaluate special events. Generally free and available for the public to enjoy, students acquire practical event planning experience, while agencies benefit from a special event.
