STANDING STONE CONCERTS PRESENTS LIVE MUSIC SERIES
AT HOMECOMING PARK, MILESBURG, PA

BRASS RATS TO PERFORM SUNDAY, MAY 21, 2023

MILESBURG, PA. – Standing Stone Concerts will present four outdoor live music performances in 2023 at Homecoming Park, 204 Market Street, in downtown Milesburg. The concerts are free to attend and made possible by a grant from the State College, PA, chapter of The Awesome Foundation.

Kicking off the series on Sunday, May 21, will be The Brass Rats, winners of the 2022 State College High School Battle of the Bands. Doors will be at 7:00 PM and music will be from 7:30 to 9:00 PM. Refreshments will be provided.

The Brass Rats perform a unique mix of jazz, funk, and pop songs from all eras. The band has played at Bellefonte's Arts Fest, Schlow Library, and State College’s MLK Plaza.

“The Brass Rats play very well together,” says Stacy Glen Tibbetts, lead producer of the series. “Their sound is New Orleans-style funky jazz. They are a tight-sounding band, and they have a good time with each other and with the music – this should be a very fun night.”

“We are delighted to welcome Standing Stone Concerts to Homecoming Park this year,” says Benjamin Fehl, Creative Director of The Crooked House. “Our site is uniquely situated to host events of all kinds, and the group’s creative mission fits well with our own goal of being an art and cultural center in the area.”

About Standing Stone Concerts

The Standing Stone Concert Series aims to bring together Milesburg and Centre County residents under the banner of local arts and culture. The early summer and fall music concerts will take place at Homecoming Park on the historic Milesburg town square, also the site of local landmark The Crooked House, a public sculpture and art installation. Live music will be provided by an eclectic mix of professional, local musicians and will be free to attend to the public. Future concerts in the series will be held in June, September, and October and will feature a variety of musical styles.
