Songwriters in the Round: Hannah Bingman, Natalie Race, Laura Boswell

Songwriters in the Round: Hannah Bingman, Natalie Race, Laura Boswell

Central Pennsylvania native songwriters come together to share songs, stories, and harmonize with one another. Look forward to an intimate evening with three of the area’s most well-known singer-songwriters.

For over twenty years, award-winning songwriter Hannah Bingman has been writing and performing her folk/blues compositions at venues along the east coast. Bingman has released three studio albums, a live album, and various digital singles, and has opened for artists such as Kaki King, Michael Glabicki, Jeffrey Gaines, the Infamous Stringdusters, and more.

Sharing her songwriting as Raven and the Wren, Natalie Race connects with her listeners through lyrics laced with the deepest themes of the human experience; the fragility of life, death, and the inevitable heartaches and heartbreaks they bear. With two young children, Natalie remarks on the truly unique spectrum of emotions that only motherhood can furnish. Leading her through sobriety, empowerment and self-love, she has documented it all, the way she does best – through song.

Laura Boswell exhibits a poetic and technical depth that has garnered comparisons to Joni Mitchell, Norah Jones, and Nick Drake. She writes intimate folk music with classical influence that Asheville’s Mountain Xpress described as “chamber-folk.” Along with being a singer-songwriter, Laura has a degree in classical guitar performance and studied piano from a young age. She views music as a bridge to human connection and vulnerability, as well as a powerful tool for fostering community. A Central Pennsylvania native, Laura now calls Western North Carolina home.
