This month’s meeting on Wednesday, May 17, will feature a talk on a very exciting paleontological topic — the Cambrian Explosion! This was the dramatic transition in which mostly microscopic life forms gave way to animals such as trilobites with eyes, legs and shells. Penn State Geosciences Ph.D. candidate Kayla Irizarry will discuss “Life in the Cambrian: Oxygen and Diversification.” The meeting will be at the Boalsburg fire hall. Everyone is welcome free of charge but minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Social “hour” begins at 7:15 PM and the featured program at 8 PM.
