Log Cabin Day
Log Cabin Day
The Bryan Cabin, typical of workers' homes in the 1830s, is featured in today's tours and demonstrations at Eagle Iron Works and Curtin Village. An introductory video and knowledgeable docents take you through the Curtin Family mansion, the iron-producing complex, and the workers' village, bringing to life this 19th century iron plantation. Get acquainted with the prominent Curtin Family, including Andrew Gregg Curtin, Pennsylvania's governor during the Civil War and one of Lincoln's key allies. Expand your horizons into aspects of geology, metallurgy, technology, transportation and industrial history.
