Zoller Gallery Presents: "Il Piatto Principale (The Main Course)"
A Penn State School of Visual Arts Juried Exhibition
Zoller Gallery is thrilled to showcase Il Piatto Principale (The Main Course), a juried exhibition featuring exceptional works by undergraduate students from the Penn State School of Visual Arts.
We are honored to welcome Joyce Robinson from the Palmer Museum as this year’s juror. Reflecting on her experience, she shared:
"It was great to see so many entries for this undergraduate show. The range of work on view is expansive—everything from oil paintings and works on paper to ceramics and metal sculptures to video animations. I love that this show was open to such a broad range of students."
The exhibition will be on display in Zoller Gallery 101 Visual Arts Building from February 10–21, open Monday–Friday, 10 AM–6 PM.
Join us for a reception and awards ceremony on Friday, February 21, from 3:00–4:30 PM to celebrate the artists and their incredible work!

Joyce Bio Below:

Joyce Robinson is interim director of the Palmer Museum of Art, where she has been a curator since 1997. During her nearly 30-year tenure at the Palmer, Joyce has organized more than 75 exhibitions and authored exhibition catalogues primarily in the fields of contemporary art, photography, American art, and studio glass. She was part of the multidisciplinary curatorial team behind the popular Plastic Entanglements: Ecology, Aesthetics, Materials (2018), which traveled to three academic museums across the country. Other collaborative projects she spearheaded include Field Language: The Painting and Poetry of Warren and Jane Rohrer (2021), co-curated with faculty from the College of the Liberal Arts, and Global Asias, guest-curated by Professor Chang Tan in partnership with the Global Asias Initiative, which also traveled to several venues across the country. Most recently, she co-curated with Erin Coe the inaugural special exhibition for the new Palmer Museum of Art, MADE IN PA.

She has also served as in-house curator for numerous major traveling exhibitions on a wide range of topics including Indian miniature painting, ancient Iranian ceramics, Chinese tomb sculpture, the photography of Ansel Adams and Steve McCurry, the sculpture of Harlem Renaissance artist Augusta Savage, and the work of contemporary artists Judy Chicago, Lesley Dill, and Carrie Mae Weems, and the Saar Family.
