Crickfest 20th Annual Celebration
Crickfest 20th Annual Celebration
Millheim, PA - PVCA (Penns Valley Conservation Association) is pleased to announce the 20th
Anniversary of our Annual Crickfest Watershed celebration. Crickfest is a free event and open to the public, with all proceeds supporting PVCA’s Environmental Education programs in the community and within the Penns Valley Area School District.
Crickfest is designed to be educational, experiential, engaging, and entertaining for all ages. It is where old friends come together, and new friendships begin.
Enjoy music throughout the day; featured bands include The Hot Mamas, Doug McMinn and Bill Stetz, and Quickdraw Cutshall & The Sure Shots. Dancing encouraged!
Eat great local food, lovingly prepared. Everything from gluten free tacos and deep-friedempanadas from Brazilian Munchies to kombucha from Keystone Cultures and a delectable assortment of savory eats from Super Duper Cafe.
Love a little friendly competition? Don’t miss the opportunity to enter your favorite pie in Sweet Creek Cafe’s 2nd annual contest to compete against friends and neighbors for top prizes and bragging rights! Also be sure to check out the huge variety of fresh baked goods, participate in a musical cake walk, and bid on deliciousness at the pie auction to satisfy your sweet tooth.
Take time to peruse the thoughtfully donated items and services on offer at the silent auction and place your bids.
Learn something new at our educational displays and events, including a special morning presentation from local author and mushroom enthusiast Bill Russell. Complete your end-of-summer gardening with a few purchases from the Native Plant sale and be sure to visit with regional nonprofits to learn about important conservation efforts in our communities.
Visit the Kids’ Tent for art projects, scavenger hunts and more, and witness kids of all ages flocking to the creek (or crick!) to watch the duck races. Try your luck by picking a duck (the rubber variety!) to win the race. Or just splash around in the inviting water. And don’t forget to launch a water bottle rocket or two!
PVCA hopes to see you on September 3rd from 11am-4pm at Coburn Park! To register for the Tunnel Trot fun run 5 or 10K, sign up for a volunteer shift, and to find a full schedule of the day's events, visit us online at: www.PennsValley.net.
