Code Blue

Code Blue

Legendary Blues, Soul, and R&B!!

When Code Blue debuted in the early 1990s, the band’s high caliber musicianship and unique mix of soul and blues, covers and originals, quickly caught on, attracting a local following that established them as a trailblazing State College band. In 1993, Code Blue kicked it up a notch when their album Stages/Then and Now opened the door to regional touring and shared billing with among others Mark Ross’s Queen Bee and the Blue Hornet Band at the Chameleon in Lancaster, Otis Clay and Billy Price at the Decade in Pittsburgh, and at the Philadelphia River Blues Festival with blues legends Otis Rush, Charles Brown, Junior Wells, and Robert Cray.

By 2000, Code Blue had dissolved as members went different directions, some joining Arthur Goldstein in his band Archie Blue, some playing with other popular local bands, all however staying in touch and active one way or another on the regional and even national music scene.
Fast forward to the present. Core members of Code Blue have reunited to continue their tradition of delivering blues, soul, and R&B at an exceptional and exciting level of musicianship. Code Blue features the vocals of Terri Parker and Rene Oakman; lead guitar Chris Younken; “hotrod” harmonica Richard Sleigh; keyboard Barbara Neumuller; acoustic guitar Jerry Zolten; and the tick tock rhythm of Harry Werner bass and John Raiser drums.
