Join the Arboretum and Shaver’s Creek as we delve into the art and science of animal tracking, which is sometimes called “the first science.” Participants will learn tracking basics to develop and investigate their hypotheses about “what happened here?” The program will focus on locating macro-signs, such as game trails, as well as family and species-specific gaits and habits. The focus will be on common mammals found in and around the State College area. Instructor Jason Andrew Beale is an education program specialist at Shaver’s Creek Environmental Center and is a lifelong naturalist. They have conducted tracking programs and workshops with the National Audubon Society and Delaware Nature Society, with a focus on wildlife coexistence.
