After years of a proposed Medicaid expansion going nowhere in Kansas, the conservative state legislature has just voted to approve it.
This comes after federal lawmakers dropped their bid to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, which gives states money to expand their Medicaid programs.
Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback is likely to veto the bill, but it sheds light on the changing political climate in the state, and gives us a glimpse of fights that are likely to happen in other states soon. Here & Now‘s Robin Youngs speaks with KCUR’s Jim McLean (@jmcleanks).
