U.S. Home Ownership Falls To A 50-Year Low

The Census Bureau reported Thursday that just 62.9 percent of Americans owned homes in the second quarter of this year, the lowest level since 1965.

Economists believe the rate may be low because young people are leaving parents’ homes and renting, instead of buying, which reduces the rate.
