An exciting 2-day event will be held at ArtsAltoona on August 26th and 27th in observance of Women’s Equality Day. In 1973 Congress designated August 26th as a day to commemorate the significance of the certification of the 19th amendment of the US Constitution-the amendment that granted women the right to vote.

The special activities will celebrate accomplishments and recognize the ongoing struggle for gender equality in all aspects of society. A lively discussion with the women judges of Blair County will kick off the evening event and will be followed by a day filled with women artists, musicians, and speakers on several topics. A screening of the film, Grit and Grace will follow a catered lunch.
