Venerated-Persecuted-Forgotten: Victims of Nazism at FC Bayern Munich
Join us for the opening event of a new exhibition exploring the history of legendary soccer club FC Bayern Munich, known for its celebrated Jewish leaders, during the Nazi period in Germany.The exhibition shares the stories of eight club players and officials who were affected by National Socialism in Germany, including the remarkable story of former president, Kurt Landauer, who was arrested and sent to Dachau where he was registered as prisoner 20009.
The event features a conversation with Interim Director of the Penn State All Sports Museum Lew Lazarow, Anton Löffelmeier from the Munich Municipal Archive, FC Bayern Managing Director Dee Kundra, and Penn State Professor of History and Jewish Studies Tamir Sorek for a discussion.
