Using Pennsylvania Land and Tax Records
Please join us for “Using Pennsylvania Land and Tax Records” presented by local genealogist and attorney, Justin K. Houser, Esq.
Although early Pennsylvania vital records can be scarce or spotty, land and tax records can serve as a crucial resource to document early settlers and to prove family connections in difficult situations. This lecture will explore the basic history of the laws governing land transfer and taxation in Pennsylvania, including the warrant, survey, and patent process for original land grants, the conveyance of land, and the taxation of people and property.
The speaker will present in person, so please join us to view the program at our meeting location at South Hills Business School (Mazza Room) in State College. The meeting is free and open to the public. As a benefit of membership, members will be emailed a Zoom link for the option to view the meeting remotely. Everyone is welcome to join the Society to enjoy this benefit
