Ridgelines Community Conference: An Exploration of Community Language Arts Education

Ridgelines Community Conference: An Exploration of Community Language Arts Education
Join us on Saturday, October 18, for a day of workshops, connection, and creation at the Ridgelines Community Conference, a gathering focused on community language arts education, to be held at 3 Dots Downtown, State College, PA.
This event welcomes anyone interested in the intersection of creativity, teaching, and community—whether you're an artist exploring the role of educator, a teacher who identifies as an artist, or a student imagining new ways to share your work with the world.
Together, we’ll explore the evolving role of the teaching artist as someone who lives at the intersection of art-making and community engagement. Through interactive workshops with Ridgelines teaching artists and other talented guest teachers and speakers, we’ll look closely at what it means to teach writing, poetry, listening and storytelling in spaces beyond traditional academic institutions.
This conference is for:
--Artists who want to teach
-- Teachers who are artists
-- Students of creative writing
-- Caregivers, social service workers, and therapists
-- Art education students
-- Anyone curious about bringing language arts into community settings
Whether you're working in classrooms, clinics, libraries, or living rooms, this gathering offers a space to reflect on your role, expand your practice, and build relationships with others doing similar work. Let’s reimagine where and how meaningful language arts teaching can happen.
