This class will take place over the course of 3 sessions, each lasting 2 hours.
This three-part class will introduce new potters to throwing on the pottery wheel, trimming the bottom of wheel-thrown objects, and glazing techniques.
This class is intended to serve beginners who are interested in getting started in the art of wheel throwing, or individuals who would like further guidance on the basics of potting. 
BONUS: Students taking this class will be credited with a clearance, allowing them to return to the studio during open hours to use the wheels for their own projects.
What is The Rivet?
The Rivet is a makerspace designed for community members who want to take creative or technical classes, learn a new hobby, or use our equipment for their own projects. Several small businesses also work in our space. Many of our classes are taught by community members who want to share their skill.
Workshop hours are for adults 18+. Equipment areas include: woodworking, metalworking, woodturning, welding, pottery, laser cutter, large format printer, embroidery machines and textiles area, 3D printers, jewelry making, electronics, bike repair, and more.
The Rivet is part of Discovery Space, a nonprofit lifelong learning organization aimed at sparking creativity and curiosity for all ages. The main entrance is located beside the large garage door.
