Pottery: Autumnal Luminaries (The Rivet)
Autumnal Luminaries
Join us for an enriching two-hour class that will immerse you in the world of basic ceramic carving and underglazing techniques. Throughout this experience, you'll create an autumn luminary from a wheel-thrown cylindrical form made by the instructor prior to the class.
This creative journey begins with sketching your design before proceeding to carve it onto your ceramic form, giving it your own artistic expression. The next step involves adding vibrant colors through the application of underglazes.
Once your luminary is dried, your instructor will complete the project by bisque firing and glaze firing your piece. The application of a clear glaze protects and enhances the bright underglaze colors, resulting in a delightful, finished piece.
Step into this class to embrace the world of ceramic artistry, carving, and underglazing. Your autumn luminary will be a testament to your newfound skills and creative flair, ready to infuse warmth and charm into any setting.
