Panel Discussion: Industrial Animal Agriculture

Panel Discussion: Industrial Animal Agriculture
Join Penn State Dickinson Law's Animal Legal Defense Fund Student Chapter for a panel discussion examining the societal dimensions of industrial animal agriculture, featuring Jo-Anne McArthur, Founder of We Animals Media, and Gene Baur, Founder of Farm Sanctuary, among others. Panelists with varying connections to the industrial animal agriculture space will engage in a roundtable discussion facilitated by a student moderator and lasting approximately 45-50 minutes. Questions driving the conversation will focus specifically on Section 12007 of the Farm Bill H.R. 8467, as well as industrial animal farming more broadly. Each panelist will bring a distinct perspective to the conversation, including: bearing witness to the industry as a photojournalist, answering the inhumane outcomes of the industry through advocacy, understanding the complexities of the industry by way of policy, and grappling with the ethical implications of the industry. The final 15-20 minutes of the event will be reserved for panelists to field audience questions submitted by notecard and selected by the moderator. This event is open to all University students, faculty, and the local community.
