The Nittany Valley Writers Network will meet on Tuesday, September 12 at 6:30 p.m., in the Schlow Library Community Room, 211 S. Allen St., State College. Local science fiction and fantasy author, Jason Palmatier, will speak about placing second in the prestigious Writers of the Future contest, and how his past writing projects prepared him to write the story that won -- "Under My Cypresses." He will also discuss attending the weeklong writing workshop for the winners, and his insights about the publishing industry. The meeting is free and open to the public.
