Nittany Valley Writers' Network Meeting
The Nittany Valley Writers Network will meet on Tuesday, November 11 at 6:00 p.m., in the Schlow Library Community Room, 211 S. Allen St., State College. At 6:30, Joel Burcat will speak on “Your Chapter Two, Lessons Learned on Reinventing Yourself as a Writer: or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Uncertainty (Balancing your Career, Shifting Genres, and Becoming a Full-Time Writer).” He will also hold a book signing.
Burcat is a novelist and retired environmental lawyer based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. His latest book, Whiz Kid, is a historical coming-of-age novel, named a Kirkus Reviews Critic’s Pick. A former Assistant Attorney General, Burcat draws on his legal career to craft award-winning thrillers, including Reap the Wind, Drink to Every Beast, Amid Rage, and Strange Fire (a Kirkus Best Book of the Week).
