Nittany Valley Writers' Network Meeting
Author, editor and forest ranger, Andrew Akers, will speak at the Nittany Valley Writers’ Network meeting on Tuesday, April 14 in the Schlow Library Community Room, 211 S. Allen St., State College. Doors open at 6:00 pm and the meeting begins at 6:30.
He will present "Leaving the Island: A Writer's Guide to Surviving the AI Apocalypse," a talk on how collaborative storytelling can help create more complex projects, how community-building can overcome bad actors flooding the market with generative AI, and how he has incorporated this into his projects, including his website.
Akers is the editor-in-chief of The Ranger's Almanac, and his stories have appeared is more than 20 publications. Akers will celebrate the release of his novel, Tapestry, on April 18. His interactive novel, The Gatebreaker Protocol, is forthcoming.
