Nittany Valley Symphony - "Timeless Treasures" Concert

Nittany Valley Symphony - "Timeless Treasures" Concert

Come enjoy live music with the Nittany Valley Symphony performing two of the most beloved classical works. Penn State professor of music, James Lyon, joins the orchestra to perform the Brahms Violin Concerto - arguably one of the top five concerti in the repertoire. The piece is know for its technical brilliance and emotional depth with a rich orchestral accompaniment. The second half of the program consists of Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5. While it begins in a darker, almost angry mode, it ends with a feeling of hope, optimism, and triumph. Tchaikovsky is know for his emotional expressiveness and captivating melodies. One of the most famous can be heard in the symphony's second movement which features French horn principal Kathryn Beck. Prepare to be enchanted with an evening of beloved music
