Penn State professor of music, James Lyon, joins the orchestra to perform the Brahms Violin Concerto - arguably one of the top five concerti in the repertoire. While it begins in a darker, almost angry mode, it ends with a feeling of hope, optimism, and triumph. Tchaikovsky is know for his emotional expressiveness and captivating melodies.
