The New Ground Festival Orchestra will give professional women musicians the opportunity to focus on health and wellness as they prepare a concert. The musicians will collaborate with local organizations each day of the festival, volunteering with ClearWater Conservancy, Plowshare Produce, and Centre Safe. Through journaling, singing, movement, massage, and good food, the musicians will have time to feel nourished and strengthened as individuals and a community. Rehearsals will culminate in a benefit concert for Centre Safe.
The concert will feature the east coast premiere of violin concerto, "Immortal Beloved" composed by Nancy Ives for violinist, Denise Dillenbeck. Also on the program is Beethoven's Coriolan Overture and Mendelssohn's Italian Symphony.
