Nature Journaling for All Ages
Nature Journaling for All Ages
Nature journaling invites us to slow down and deepen our connection to the natural world. In this workshop, we will discuss techniques for blending art, natural history, and ecology to record observations and questions for further study. Unlike traditional art, the goal is not to create a masterpiece, but to cultivate curiosity and train the eye to notice details one might otherwise miss. It turns a simple walk into an intentional study of the environment, creating a lasting personal record of experiences.
PVCA educators Julie Barton and Sarah DePasquale will discuss traditional techniques for nature journaling as well as subjects, supplies, and materials. Participants are invited to bring their own journals and art supplies if they wish; simple journals will be available in the PVCA office for a small donation. The program is geared toward adults but welcomes children interested in the quiet pace of an adult workshop.
*This program is offered as part of an ongoing Nature Journaling resource provided by PVCA. Each month, a new journal prompt with curated resources will be on display in the journal corner of the PVCA office.
