Curtin Village is still in need of volunteers for our upcoming PA Day efforts in Centre County on Saturday, July 19 at 8:30 am. Volunteers will assist with restoring the historic Curtin Herb Garden by restacking the stone walls, re-laying the existing flagstone pathway, and planting additional herbs where needed. Some volunteers will need to move, lift and place flagstones and random fieldstones. Others will need to relocate materials such as limestone sand, topsoil and mulch from a nearby stockpile location to the garden location using carts and/or wheelbarrows. Gardeners will complete the project by planting/replanting herbs according to a predesigned layout.
