Celebrating the inauguration of the 50th year of guided tours at Curtin, you will be met by Curtin personages in period dress. Tour the Curtin Mansion and the reconstructed iron works and roam the workers' village. Hear how the iron industry was key to development of central Pennsylvania and the founding of Penn State. Learn a little geology; a bit of transportation history; a scintilla of metallurgy; a whit of engineering; a smidgin of Civil War history; a fragment of architectural history; a trace of the history of 19th century tools, machines, and furniture; a touch of Curtin genealogy; and a plethora of other miscellaneous trivia.
