Huntingdon Progressive Organ Concert
Huntingdon Progressive Organ Concert
Three of Huntingdon's most historic pipe organs star in this progressive concert -- the rare A.B. Felgemaker tracker organs at St John's and First Baptist, from 1911 and 1903 respectively, and the big Moller instrument at the Abbey Church, from 1927. The organist, Aaron Patterson, 24, is a graduate student in organ performance at the Juilliard School, and also an assistant organist on the famous Wanamaker Organ in Philadelphia. He'll play for about a half-hour at each church, and then concertgoers will have half an hour to stroll to the next venue. The Rev. Gene Tucker, recently retired from St. John's, will introduce each instrument. The afternoon will conclude with a reception at St. James Lutheran Church. Tickets are just $20 each and are available from the Huntingdon Arts Council, either online or in person at 313 12th Street.
