Global Warming 101
Global Warming 101
The Climate Care Committee would like to invite you to a presentation on Monday, April 29 at 7 pm in the Foxdale Village Auditorium. Our speaker will be Dr. Raymond Najjar, Professor of Oceanography in the Department of Meteorology and Atmospheric Science at Penn State, with a joint appointment in the Department of Geoscience. Professor Najjar has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from The Cooper Union and a PhD in ocean science from Princeton University. He also had a much-coveted postdoc at the National Center for Atmospheric Research. Professor Najjar’s early work in open-ocean biogeochemistry and more recent concentration on coastal and estuary nutrient cycling has taken him from Antarctica to the Chesapeake Bay.
The program is titled - Global Warming 101
Learn the fundamentals of the Earth's changing climate, including the evidence for warming, the contributions of humans, the impacts on ecosystems and society, and how our actions now will determine the severity of the threat to future generations.
