Community Art Think Tent & Tea Dialogue
Community Art Think Tent & Tea Dialogue
This event at 3 Dots Downtown features a handmade tent made from fabrics donated by Sahrawi women refugees. The tent serves as a storytelling instrument for Asria Mohamed Taleb who is born and raised in the Sahrawi refugee camps in SW Algeria and based in Oslo (Norway). She is a human rights defender, journalist, and artist who will host local community members in conversation over tea to raise awareness about the under-reported human rights abuses in Western Sahara and prolonged Sahrawi refugee situation in Algeria's Hamada desert. This public event is made possible by co-sponsorships between the Hearst Fund in the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications, The School of Visual Arts, and Women’s Gender & Sexuality Studies.
