Adult Mental Health First Aid
The adult Mental Health First Aid course is appropriate for anyone 18 years and older who wants to learn how to help a person who may be experiencing a mental health related crisis or problem. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, psychosis, and addictions.
Mental Health First Aid was created in Australia in 2001 by Betty Kitchener, a nurse specializing in health education, and Tony Jorm, a respected mental health literacy professor. The National Council for Behavioral Health operates Mental Health First Aid USA in partnership with the Missouri Department of Mental Health.
This course is sponsored by Juniata College. Prior to the course, you will need to complete two hours of prework. We will then meet for the instructor led portion of the course through zoom on June 1 and 2 from 8am – 12pm. Please note you are expected to attend both days for this course. Thank you.
