Held annually at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Petersburg and now in its 6th year, our 75-minute program follows the traditional format of the Festival of Nine Lessons & Carols, first held at King's College Cambridge (UK) in 1918.

Nine Old and New Testament scripture readings, tracing the Advent and Christmas story, are each followed by traditional carols of the season sung by the congregation and accompanied by organ, chamber brass and timpani arrangements.

The liturgy and scripture readings are presented by local clergy and lay readers. Local and regional musicians support the congregational singing.
A freewill offering will be received and added to a special community fund in support of a local family identified with a recent emergency need.

A fellowship hour with light refreshments will follow the Festival.
